Weekly Meeting: Rafat Solaiman @ WOW! ZONE, 2030 Adams St, Mankato, MN 56001

Rafat is the 19-year old executive director of Fasting For Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit combatting hunger and food insecurity through a new approach. He began Fasting For Friends in 2017 as a junior in high school after seeing the reality of food insecurity while volunteering at his local food shelf. He has received numerous local and state awards, and was valedictorian of his high school class. Rafat is currently a 2nd year undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota. 
Rafat will be presenting on Why Hunger is a Solvable Issue. He will go over the issue of hunger on a global and local level, the negative implications, and how Fasting For Friends is using education and service to solve it. By the end of the presentation you will know what you can do to be the most effective altruist in helping those struggling with hunger.
